Share Your World

For Cee’s SYW challenge (2016 week 3) — I thought I would give this a whirl.

This challenge was intriguing to me and I’ve been pondering this for a couple of days now.

What is your favorite piece of art? (it doesn’t have to be famous)

Wow, too many ways to go on this one. I can’t pick a piece of art so perhaps some general art/artists. First to come to mind is literally anything by Josephine Wall. Check out her art here at her Gallery. Amazing, magical stuff.

Another to come to mind is hypberbolic crochet. I can’t do it very well but I sure appreciate those who can. Gabriele Meyer impresses me with her lines and surfaces. She does some purely beautiful work.

What made you smile today?

Today it actually snowed for around a half an hour then turned to freezing rain (or was it sleet?). This may be our big weather event for this year, you never know. Snow is scarce here.

My moss and this audacious dandelion don’t mind a little white stuff. This made me smile.

Which place do you recommend as a Must-See? Please state which country, state or providence.

We live in the shadow of the Blue Ridge Mountains. We often hike the trails and enjoy the waterfalls of North and South Carolina and Georgia. The last trip we made was to some trails off the Chattooga River near the North Carolina border: I consider this place a Must-See for anyone who enjoys moss, lichen, fungi and slime molds or just for waterfall and hiking enjoyment. For me- a banquet of pure mycological heaven.

Complete this sentence: When I was younger I used to….

Be able to sleep in. And I think I slept better. Where did those days go?

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

Last week I think I finally felt some peace at being through the holiday season. While our holiday was nice, it was insanely busy for me. Last week I had some time to crochet and I took a nap (gasp). I’m grateful to be able to breathe again.

Next week I look forward to continuing some projects and the stability of a more regular schedule.

  1. I really enjoyed looking at the pictures of the places you like to go. I’ve never been to your area, but someday would love to see it. 🙂 Thanks for sharing these! 🙂
